Ella is a singing teacher much in demand and highly respected in the London, Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex areas; she is sought-after for her knowledge, patience and dedication. Ella also has a 100% pass rate for London College of Music, Trinity/Guildhall and ABRSM Singing and Theory exams.
Alongside her classical and operatic performing career, Ella enjoys teaching all genres of music and seeks a great deal of pleasure from her students making progress, developing vocally and emotionally. She approaches teaching in a holistic manner, with her teaching firmly science-based, and believes in creating a sound and stable technical base through personalised exercises and detailed pedagogical work. It is very important to her that she clearly communicates how the voice works, why exercises are given and which areas of the technique they address. Ella creates a very safe environment for her students to grow and thrive musically and in their performing ability. The best and most frequent feedback Ella receives is "but that's so easy!"
Ella teaches from her home in Tooting and covers areas of South West London including Merton, Mitcham, Croydon, Colliers Wood, Balham and Clapham. She also runs a private studio on the Hampshire/Sussex borders and is also on the teaching staff at Highfield and Brookham Schools, Ditcham Park School, where she was a student, and St Benedict's School, Ealing where many of her students go on to gain music scholarships at some of the country's most prestigious public schools. Ella's students also frequently gain places and scholarships at some of the most reputable music colleges and performing institutions.
Ella is a member is the Independent Society of Musicians (ISM) and Association of Teachers of Singing (AOTOS) and holds an Advanced Certificate (Opera Studies), Masters of Performance (Vocal Studies), both from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and a BMus (Hons) Music from Royal Holloway, University of London.
